Bogles Wins GP Toronto

Forget Lantern Control. Time to be mad at Bogles. #BanBogles.

I actually forgot Bogles existed. Straight up forgot. Now it won a GP and we can all yell about it.

I’m not gonna yell about it. I’m way too lazy for that. Y’all can do that if you want though.

It’s probably fine. This deck is easy to hate out. Liliana decks are going to tell it no.

Congratulations to Dan Ward for your Grand Prix victory.

Pro Tour Rivals of Ixalan Top 8 Andrea Mengucci Five Color Humans

Humans has taken over the Modern tribal scene. No goblins. No merfolk. Humans only. Final Destination.

Andrea Mengucci took five color humans to a top eight finish at Pro Tour Rivals of Ixalan.

This is another deck where newer cards are having strong impacts on Modern. Kitesai Freebooter is fresh out of Ixalan and just out the gates like “yo what’s up”. Turns out an instant speed Duress with Aether Vial is good. And it’s just good in general to steal your opponent’s removal/draw/combo pieces.

I never expected Mantis Riders to make an impact in Modern. Like ever. Literally ever. But here’s a top eight Pro Tour list packing a play set.

If you asked me I’d say this archetype is here to stay. And stay for a very long time.

Magic the Gathering Masters 25

We’re getting another Masters set soon and this one will celebrate Magic’s 25th birthday. Congratulations, Magic. You’re old enough to drive, drink, smoke, and be crushed by student loan debt.

We don’t know much about the set just yet. There’s Jace, the Mind Sculptor and Azusa, Lost but Seeking on the pack wrappers. There’s also a mystery creature on the third wrapper.

It looks like an artifact creature but it’s hard to say what. Some people are saying Arcbound Ravager but it’s too humanoid in my opinion for that. If I had to guess, it’s either Darksteel Colossus or Blightsteel Colossus. I hope both are in the set. They’re two of my favorite giant creatures.
